\u201cWhen I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, \u201cLook for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.\u201d Fred Rogers.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

There has been no shortage of scary things in 2020. But amidst the chaos and uncertainty, it has also offered many opportunities to help. In October our team helped to pack over 10 000 food<\/strong> packs at Rise Against Hunger<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The lockdown had such a direct impact on the ability of the most vulnerable to feed themselves. The aim of this movement is to address hunger and malnutrition through empowering communities, nourishing lives and responding to emergencies resonated with us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another way we give back is to donate to charities in lieu of year-end corporate gifts to our clients. And our clients have been in full support of this initiative as a way to Pay It Forward. For the past few years we have donated generously to the Door of Hope<\/strong><\/a> and 7Searope<\/strong><\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our intention has been to support organisations working to improve the quality of life for all on our planet and also those taking care of the most vulnerable and defenceless in our society. This year we\u2019ve donated R10 000 to the Arts and Culture Trust<\/strong><\/a> as we are sympathetic to the fact that their industry, with tourism and eventing, has been especially hard hit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As dark and disruptive as this year has been, there has been a silver lining. We found ways to diversify our product offering from in-person eventing to online events and integrated digital campaigns. Our remote-working lives has allowed us to grow closer as a team and share a sense of collaboration that might have been taken for granted before. We have been intentional about honing our skills to better serve our clients and being more open to new ways of working. This pandemic has made us stronger and kinder \u2013 to others, and to ourselves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We don\u2019t know what 2021 holds. A social media meme wryly suggests that 2021 might just be Season 2 of 2020. We cannot predict the future but what we can do, amidst this uncertainty, is continue to serve our clients with excellence and care, to look after our team and to make sure that when we see scary things in the news, that we are always one of the helpers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

PS:<\/strong> We have resisted the urge to stay open throughout the festive period as we believe that it\u2019s important to rest and regroup for the new year. As such our last day in the \u2018office\u2019 will be 15th<\/sup> December<\/strong> and we will open our doors with renewed vigour on 11 January<\/strong>.
